Live product search in chat
It searches your catalogue and answers with the current price and stock status, then shows product cards with an Add to Cart button.
An AI chat widget for WooCommerce that finds products, checks live price and stock, and answers store policy questions.
AI Product Recommender for WooCommerce adds a chat assistant to your store. It looks up live price and stock before answering product questions and shows product cards with Add to Cart. It answers shipping and returns questions only from text you write, checks order status, and hands the customer to a person when it can't help. It runs on the AI provider you choose (DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Qwen or Grok), with your own API key.
It searches your catalogue and answers with the current price and stock status, then shows product cards with an Add to Cart button.
Write your shipping policy, returns policy and FAQ once, and the assistant answers from that text and nothing else.
Customers can check an order with the order number and email. After an add-to-cart it suggests a related product, and it can open itself when a visitor is about to leave.
When a customer asks for a person, or the assistant can’t help, it offers your email, WhatsApp or contact page.
Track conversations started, add-to-carts from chat, conversion rate and the revenue the chat helped close.
Most shopper questions are the same handful: is this in stock, do you ship to my country, how do returns work, where is my order. Answering them by email is slow. A generic chatbot is quick, but it answers from whatever it remembers or scraped, which is how it ends up quoting last month’s price.
You pay us a yearly licence fee for the plugin. Your AI provider bills your own account for usage: every customer message is one API call. Related-product suggestions and product learning don’t call the AI provider. Each visitor can send 20 messages every five minutes, which keeps one person from running up your bill.
The Analytics tab counts conversations, Add to Carts from chat, conversion rate and revenue. An order only counts if it followed an Add to Cart from a chat card, it counts once, and it has to be paid.
1.2.3
* Fix: license activation and update checks now send the plugin's current store name, "AI Product Recommender for WooCommerce", so they match the renamed product in the store. Your license and settings are unchanged.
1.2.2
* ChatGPT sites on gpt-5-mini move to gpt-5.6-terra, because OpenAI shuts gpt-5-mini down on 11 Dec 2026. Cost note: gpt-5.6-terra costs more per message on your own OpenAI key ($2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens, against $0.25 and $2 for gpt-5-mini, OpenAI's standard prices on 13 Oct 2026). Type a cheaper model in the Model field if you prefer. A model you typed in yourself is left alone.
* Fix: when the AI provider refuses a request (a wrong model, an expired key, no credit), shoppers now see "the shopping assistant is unavailable right now" instead of the provider's own error text. The real error goes to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and to a notice for store managers in wp-admin, which clears once the chat answers again.
* Fix: a budget the shopper typed can be repeated back only as a limit ("under $50", "your $50 budget"). Before, any reply that named the same figure passed the price check, so a shopper could get the assistant to state their own figure as a product's price, and a shoe size or date typed after a limit word ("Schuhe bis 42?") could back a matching price.
* Fix: deleting the plugin now also removes its Analytics counters and short-lived chat data, and on multisite cleans every site and the network license.
1.2.1
* Display name changed from "Woo AI Product Recommender" to "AI Product Recommender for WooCommerce". The plugin folder, file names, settings, license and updates stay as they were.
* Fix: the assistant quotes prices as the shop shows them, with or without tax, following "Display prices in the shop". Before, a store that enters prices without tax and shows them with tax could get the price before tax in the chat.
* Fix: on stores whose default customer location is "Geolocate", the chat loads the shopper's WooCommerce session, so tax is worked out as on the product page.
* Fix: the price check also catches prices written with the currency after the number ("20 €"), as a code ("20 EUR", "USD 20") or as a word ("20 euros"), and reads them with the store's own decimal and thousand separators ("19,99 €" is 19.99).
* A budget the shopper types in German, French, Spanish, Italian or Dutch can be repeated back, as an English one could ("unter 30 €", "Mon budget est de 30 €"). A price the shopper guesses still has to be looked up.
* Fix: a date, size, weight, volume or count after a limit word ("bis 20. Dezember", "unter 20 kg", "sous 10 paires") is not read as a budget, and neither are product names such as "Air Max 90" or "Pro Max".
* Fix: a price in a reply must match a whole number from the lookup, so on euro stores "€20" no longer passes after any lookup.
1.2.0
* Fix: new default models. DeepSeek deepseek-flash (deepseek-chat was discontinued on 24 Jul 2026), ChatGPT gpt-5.6-terra (gpt-5-mini shuts down on 11 Dec 2026) and Grok grok-4.3 (grok-4 is no longer listed by xAI). Qwen stays on qwen-plus.
* On update, a saved DeepSeek or Grok model equal to the old default is replaced with the new default. A model you typed in yourself is left alone.
* Existing sites on ChatGPT gpt-5-mini keep it for now. OpenAI shuts it down on 11 Dec 2026, and a later update will move them to the new default. New installs start on gpt-5.6-terra.
* DeepSeek requests now use non-thinking mode, which the product lookups need.
* Fix: any price a reply states is now checked against the lookups made in the same turn, including replies made without a lookup. If a price can't be matched, the assistant is asked once to look it up, and a reply that still names an unmatched price is replaced with a short "let me double-check" message. A budget the shopper typed ("anything under $50?") can still be repeated back; a price they guess cannot.
* Sites that installed the older 1.1.1 build, from before the shared AI provider client, are offered this update; both builds carried the same version number.
1.1.1
* The license server address and product are now fixed in the plugin and can no longer be changed from wp-config.php.
1.1.0
* Choose the AI provider that powers the chat: DeepSeek, ChatGPT (OpenAI), Qwen, or Grok.
* Multisite: one license covers the network, each subsite counts as one site, and only a network admin can change it.
1.0.0
* Initial release: AI storefront chat with live product search, knowledge-base answers, order lookup, related-product suggestions, human handoff, analytics, and full styling controls.
* License key activation for automatic updates. Every feature works without a license; the key only enables updates.
It runs alongside WooCommerce and never changes its files, so you can keep updating WooCommerce as usual.

Shoppers keep asking the same product and shipping questions, and you want them answered instantly.
You sell only a few products and prefer to answer every question yourself.
Yes, from one of four providers: DeepSeek, ChatGPT (OpenAI), Qwen (Alibaba Cloud) or Grok (xAI). You choose on the AI Provider tab, and the provider bills usage directly to your account. Each provider keeps its own key, so you can switch later.
It's built not to. Every price and stock answer comes from a live WooCommerce lookup, and the assistant is told to use only that data and your policy text. Like any AI assistant it can still misread an unusual question, so keep the human hand-off switched on.
That depends on the provider and model you choose, their current prices, and how much your shoppers chat. Each customer message is one API call on your account. Related-product suggestions and product learning don't call the AI provider.
Yes. Define WAPR_DEEP_SEEK_API_KEY in wp-config.php. The settings field then locks and shows why.
Simple products that are in stock and purchasable. Variable, grouped and external products show a View Product link, because the shopper has to choose options first.
Yes. The human hand-off can go to email, WhatsApp or any link you choose, such as a contact form or your live-chat tool.
The chat widget loads in the site footer, so your theme needs to call wp_footer(), which almost all do. Colours and fonts are set on the Appearance tab, and there is a Custom CSS box for anything else.
DeepSeek, ChatGPT (OpenAI), Qwen (Alibaba Cloud, International or China region) and Grok (xAI). Each provider keeps its own API key and model, so switching never loses a saved key.
Yes. The Analytics tab counts conversations, Add to Carts from chat, conversion rate and revenue. An order only counts if it followed an Add to Cart from a chat card, it counts once, and it has to be paid.
